Professional attitudes to radicalism and polarisation (social workers)

The training programme aims to enable participants to:
- easily identify and understand the phenomena associated with radicalisation,
- understand the diversity of radicalisation (in addition to jihadism),
- integrate or recall certain fundamental values of the Belgian state,
- gain a better understanding of violent radical Islamist movements and move away from certain misconceptions,
- understand what leads to violent radicalisation and what levers can be used to initiate pacification,
- incorporate the prevention of violent radicalisation and polarisation into the role of the social worker within the framework of professional social work ethics, adopt a professional approach and take considered action in the face of speech or behaviour that may - rightly or wrongly - appear radical (violent) or polarised/polarising, while avoiding being a source of polarisation oneself.

Sex work: professional support for sex workers for pcsw social workers
The training module covers the following objectives:
- Promote a better understanding and knowledge of sex work: the different types of sex work, the places where it takes place, the profiles of sex workers, etc.;
- Particular emphasis will be placed on less visible forms of sex work (online, in private places); Raise awareness of the issues and realities of sex work and exploitation;
- Understand the legal and regulatory framework governing sex work in Brussels and Belgium, the rights and duties of sex workers, regional policy in this area, etc.;
- Raise awareness of the various realities that may be associated with sex work in the public space: drug use, addiction, violence, etc. Prevent the risks related to these phenomena.
- This may include elements relating to the identification of situations involving drug use and violence, and information on promoting access to healthcare; Provide information on the various help and support services available to sex workers in the Brussels Region;
- Adopt a respectful and effective professional approach to support victims of sexual exploitation or help individuals wanting to retrain for a career outside sex work;
- Be neutral and non-judgemental: challenging stereotypes and their own prejudices in order to approach sex workers without making moral judgements; Eliminate stigmatising and discriminatory attitudes;
- Raise awareness of professional secrecy: principles and practice of professional secrecy in the case of sex workers, especially those in the process of retraining for a career outside sex work or victims of sexual exploitation;
- Recognise the signs of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
This includes the ability to ask the right questions in a sensitive way, in order to gather the necessary information while respecting the privacy and safety of the people involved.

Installation and use of cameras in Brussels' public administrations
The training course will cover the following objectives:
- Touch on the laws and regulations governing video surveillance at local and regional levels in Brussels, and examine their underlying rationale and scope.
- Identify camera deployment processes and the players involved in administration.
- Identify and examine camera compliance processes.
- Identify the necessary documentation and the processes required to collect it.
- Detail the access and usage rights for images.
- Detail the rights and freedoms of the persons concerned (those filmed).
- Explain the rules governing the processing and storage of images and personal data.
- Work with others to develop practical recommendations.

The training course will cover the following objectives:
- Understand the possible reasons for aggressive behaviour (drivers and barriers);
- Learn to manage your emotions, distance yourself and act appropriately;
- Learn to manage your own aggressiveness and avoid generating aggressiveness in others;
- Acquire verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to manage situations involving aggression and respond without violence;
- Defuse conflict and avoid provocation;
- Be able to reconcile empathy and assertiveness;
- Self-reflection: identify your own operating method and correct it if necessary;
- Prevent aggressiveness by working on the way you present yourself when approaching citizens;
- Enable officers to take part in role-playing exercises involving difficult situations they encounter in the course of their work.

Cybersecurity (for IT staff)

Enabling participants to:
- have common concepts with IT managers to facilitate communication and strengthen teams,
- identify server vulnerabilities and provide effective security solutions recognised in the cybersecurity community,
- understand internet attacks and find a solution to build appropriate security for their infrastructures.
Suggest ways in which participants can improve their infrastructure to ensure regular cybersecurity protection for their administration/organisation.

Combating social dumping for administrative officers, lawyers, heads of department or departments aware of fraud.

Define social dumping, identify its tangible manifestations and the regulations that address it, inform local administrations on their legal obligations as contracting authorities, propose new procedures and partnerships to monitor the proper execution of public contracts, in particular with the Observatory of Reference Prices (Observatoire des Prix de Référence) and the Social Information and Investigation Service (SIRS/SIOD), provide standardised, ready-to-use tools to tackle unfair competition and the unlawful underpricing of public contracts, collect real-life examples of social dumping and how they have been handled (cases brought before the courts, supporting evidence, etc.), gather documents, best practice manuals or guidance for each sensitive sector.
